Alexxandra Schintgen January 27, 2010 World History 4th Hour The Columbian Trade Christopher capital of Ohio brought a great(p) deal of money to the European countries, mostly Spain, but brought very much pain and suffering to the Native American tribes that settled in now known as North and South America. When Christopher Columbus arrived to The New record, thinking that it was the Orient came across the Natives to this land. These people he came to the quick conclusion that they were the Indians, as from India, but currently knowledgeable that he was greatly mistaken. He did not want to go back to Spain empty handed. So thinking quick on his feet, Columbus looked at the Natives and realized what he had found. So play around and going back to Spain, he told the queen nearly his sufferings, and how even though he didnt trip up to his reliable destination, he got to something great in its own idea. Slaves and these slaves had golden earrings, which meant that they knew where to find the precious metal. The queen sent him back to The New Land with more ships to pick up the new found slaves and to get all the gold they could find. When brought on to the ships to be sold as slaves most of the Native Americans died. Not being used to the dread weather, or the voyage of leaving their homes.

Even the ones that survived the voyage soon became the victims of the bubonic plague, smallpox, malaria, measles, and influenza. When Columbus looked for the gold he demanded the Natives to find it for him, and if they didnt obtain a mighty amount of gold that the Whiteman hold on, then they were killed on spot. The ones that did find the amount wanted would pick up a metal to wear so it was known betwixt the ones that had retrieved a good amount of gold. The Natives were not treated as citizens. They were treated how ever the Europeans wanted, for the rules in Europe didnt do any justice to the Native Americans. So if a European wanted to kill an Indian, he would.
