Some people consider Jimi Hendrix merely one of the fore-fathers of psychotropic rock, in reality that only scratches the surface. In fact it might have been him trying to live up to this image that lastly killed him. He was actually influenced by a lot of vapours artists growing up. He vie with different R& deoxyadenosine monophosphate;B groups like Little Richard, the Kingpins, and the Isley Brothers. He served his country in the army. in that location was more depth to him than just being a hippie.
Jimi was exposed to a lot of megrims and jazz as a child. His Father had a record collection, and the blues records by Muddy Waters, and T-Bone Walker caught his attention most. (Piccoli 28) When Jimi got his first guitar he looked day and night, absorbing everything he could from records, the radio, and other musicians he perceive around the neighborhood and in clubs. He takeed himself on the blues artistry of B.B. King, Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, and Elmore James. (Piccoli 29) He began to play in local R&B bands, this is what he loved to do, it was an escape for him.
As an 18 year-old high school dropout with a criminal record, Jimi had few prospects of making a living. There was a traditional alternative for young men in his position, and that was, join the armed forces. (Piccoli 33) He involveed to follow in his fathers footsteps and serve his country. He wanted to be a screaming eagle of the 101st Airborne Division.
His ideate was to earn his Screaming Eagle, the distinctive sleeve patch feeble by the men of the high flying 101st.

This dream until now was cut short due to an injury suffered to his back during a parachute jump; he was given an honorable discharge. The army however was not a waste of time he met one of his life-long friends there, bass player Billy Cox.
