Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once stated Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed. In other words, life should non be lived waiting for things to travel by into place. Do not be passive. Seek your rightlys, as it entrust lead you to wards your goal. Although you may believe your opinion is what is right, it will not turn someones mind on its own. I agree with this quote because freedom is a natural right and people must fight to keep what they deserve. The Speech at the Virginia Convention and The Declaration of Independence by authors Patrick total heat and doubting Thomas Jefferson respectively, encourage the Americans to fight for what they desire; in this case, freedom. Both authors apply several literary devices in order to establish their bushels for liberty.
Patrick Henrys belief that someones life cannot be purchased is shown in The Speech at the Virginia Convention. Boldly, he establishes his conviction of freedom having no price. He implied that the British were impairing the colonists. Therefore, freedom is a right. No man should be a server of another.
