Principles and philosophical system of node-centered therapy by Carl Rogers: Client-centered therapy, otherwise known as person-centered therapy was developed by humanitarian therapist Carl Rogers in the mid-1940s. Client centered-therapy is a humanistic approach to therapy. Its main focus is on the guest and the clients well be. The therapists take a non-directive role in the sessions, difference all the work to the client. According to a client-centered therapy article in the Harvard Mental Health Letter, The client-centered therapist must create an ambiance in which clients can communicate their feelings with certainty that they are being understood rather than judged ( 2006). The client-centered therapys main focus is for the offbeat of the client or patient. In client-centered therapy, clients are urged by the therapist to express themselves and their emotions. The therapist then use a mode called reflection to reflect back to the client what the client has said. In doing this, the clients are the ones to direct the course of treatment.




Carl Rogers client-centered therapy allows the client to explore their issues, small-arm the therapist sits and makes little comments about what the client is expressing. This type of therapy allows the client to take the reign of the session, thereby empowering the client to express themselves plain more. Rogers chose to call his patients clients rather than patients because the term patient, he believed, were more gear toward the medical field. Eventually, the term client-centered therapy would be replaced with people-centered therapy to accommodate those individuals who were not in the psychological field, such as pastors, priests, teachers, and coaches, and counselors.
