As one of the most influential writers of the ordinal century, Virginia Woolf has made quite an impact on modern writings (Grossman, Woolf Web). She is considered one of the greatest innovated novelists of the twentieth century (Beetz 1976).

Virginia and her husband, Leonard Woolf, founded the Hogarth Press, and were central figures in the Bloomsbury chemical group. Bloomsbury was founded by Duncan James Corrowr Grant. Bloomsbury Group is an influential literary and rational group named after Bloomsbury unbent in London. Members met at the London homes of Wolf Clive and Vanessa Bell. The early years of Bloomsbury were met in London near the British museum to reason literature and religion. Many members gradually moved on to Oxford and Cambridge to study literature (Grossman, Bloomsbury Web). Woolfs involvement in Bloomsbury jolted her from the intellectual and emotional deadening from her society (Dowling 3).
After the suffrage movement, Woolf had a sparked interest in feminism.

became interested in womens history, and in short after wrote to her Latin tutor to volunteer for the Adult Suffragists (Rosenman 8). Woolf began speechmaking at colleges, such as
Cambridge and Girton, reading her paper, Women and Fiction. The speeches were revised and expand to soon become A Room of Ones Own (Webb 82). Woolf had a difficult time specifying the characteristics of a gendered convict; she remains committed to the idea of a female literary form (Rosenman 8). Mrs. Dalloway clearly shows questioning of realism, experimentalism, and sophisticated feminism (Dowling 13).
