Writing a self-evaluation of ones academic piece of piece of music is not an easy pursuit. This is due to several problems. The first and or so daunting would be keeping the account as electroneutral as possible. This would require a working knowledge of neutral language, thus, keeping the individual from appearing directly in the text, but, at the same time being implied in the written piece.
some other aspect in tackling this awkward pursuit would require organizing thoughts, instances and pertinent personalities that played an important role in the development of the writing persona.
On the other hand, there is the fact that one has to recede the instance in which they began to write academically. This crucial split second in the writers life may not be easy to pinpoint if one is of a certain age. In the case at hand, writing academically began in gamey school in Canada. The logical progression which would have been expected, however, was shortened by the move to new country and new language. This actuate a whole new perspective in the writers creative process and experience.
One particular moment comes to mind when at university (in Spain), a certain linguistics instructor commented on the fact that the writers language was to a greater extent that of a teenager than a university student. Needless to say, this was a hurtful, frighten comment that remains with the writer to this very date. Fortunately, willpower, reading and the mental intent to prove the certain linguistics professor unconventional has overcome the painful comment.
Despite that excruciating moment, writing started at an early age because it was an aim in the Canadian preparation transcription. As early on as the 1970s, the Canadian system was already encouraging students to keep journals. Writing, therefore, started as an obligation and curtly became a delightful exercise.
