Starbucks, a name inspired by Moby Dick, began its humble beginnings in a single store located in Pike straddle Market in Seattle, WA. The year was 1971 and Starbucks was selling some of the finest fresh-roasted upstanding bean coffees with a desire to help make the ground a little better. At the present time, Starbucks has more than 15,000 stores in 50 countries and is the premier roaster and retailer of specialty coffees in the world.
