Dear Miss Marble,
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your last letter, and so for all the letters I have received from you in the past months. I can not express how oftentimes your correspondence has come to mean to me and all the numerous do your letters have brightened my dreary evenings away from Hartford.

I confess I was ravish by your beauty and sweet disposition from the moment we were introduced and since so in the three summers that have preceded my feelings for you have continued to blossom. I feel we are well matched financially, and indeed now in any case in prominence. It is my genuine belief we shall make an exceedingly pith life to overreachher and you shall make a fine prostitute of Lipton. I have already obtained heartfelt blessings from my parents as well as The Honorable Mr. Marble and Mrs.
Marble; all that which is leave is if you would only say yes to my proposal.
I shall be eagerly awaiting your reply.
Yours Sincerely,
Colonel Percy Phillips.
