The main character, Vix, comes from a lamentable family and is very unsure and quiet when she is young, which is when the story starts. whizz pass, Caitlin, a rich girl, asks Vix to drop down the spend with her in Marthas Vineyard. throughout the pass they manufacture good friends, and they decide that both summer they will go to Marthas Vineyard together, and be summer sisters.

Although sometimes they look at problems, they stay friends, and continue to go to the vineyard every summer until Vix is in college, where she spends her time with bare-ass friends.
